Everyone can travel in Italy by car. This is cheaper and more convenient than by train. We rented the cheapest car in Bergamo airport (Fiat 500 or similar)they wrote at booking car rental (booking.com/cars)(website) for 47 euro/5 days. But in reality, they gave us new diesel Hyundai Kona 2020 with only 17 000 km mileage—a highly reliable subcompact SUV.
Centauro rental in Bergamo is good. They pick up us in airport, and transferred to their office, where we got our Hyundai Kona.
We did not have any problems with car or rental at all. At first, they block 1080 euro on my Visa card as guarantee, but then they unblock it the same time us we gave the car back.
