Special Potato Bake


  • 908g/2 lb potatoes, peeled & chopped
  • 4 tbsp very low fat natural fromage frais
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 28g/1 oz reduced fat strong cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt & ground black pepper
  • 113g/4 oz frozen petit pois

Preheat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan of lightly salted water and boil for 15-20 minutes, until tender. Drain and mash with the fromage frais until light and fluffy, add the garlic and season to taste. Cook the petit pois according to the packet instructions. Drain and stir into the mixture and then transfer to an ovenproof dish and sprinkle the cheese over the top. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden.
