MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 1 1/2 minutes, giving the plate a quarter-turn every 15 seconds. Leave to stand for 30 seconds, remove the cling film and slide the egg on to the plate.

VARIATION: To cook 4 portions of egg, bacon and tomatoes, preheat a large browning skillet for 3 minutes. Arrange 8 bacon rashers side by side on the skillet and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 3 minutes. Remove the bacon and cover. Reheat the browning skillet for 2 minutes, then break an egg into each corner. Puncture the yolks, cover and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 1 1/2-2 minutes, giving the dish a half-turn once during cooking. Leave to stand while cooking the tomatoes. Arrange the tomatoes on a plate, cover and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 2 1/2-З minutes, giving the dish a quarter-turn every 30 seconds.
