Rich Onion Sauce
Ingredients:* 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
* a few drops of Worcestershire sauce
* 1 large onion, finely chopped
* 1/4 level teaspoon dried marjoram
* 2oz (50g) flour
* salt
* 1 pint (600ml) hot stock
* freshly ground black pepper
* 3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
Measure the oil and onion into a microproof bowl and cook on full power for 5 minutes until the onion has softened. Stir in the flour and gradually blend in the stock. Add the tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and marjoram. Season to taste and mix well. Cover with pierced clear film and cook on full power for up to 10 minutes, beating well twice during cooking and once again thoroughly at the end of cooking.
