* 8oz (225g) long grain rice
* scant 1 pint (600ml) water, heated to boiling point
* salt

Measure the rice, water and salt into a large ovenproof glass bowl, stir well. Cover with pierced clear film. Cook on full power for 15 minutes, then remove from oven and leave to stand for 5 minutes until the water is absorbed. Fluff up the grains with a fork and serve.
