* 2 medium dessert apples or 2 ripe pears, peeled and cored
* 1 to 2 tbsp water or pure unsweetened apple juice

1. Chop the apple or pear into small, even-sized pieces. Put the fruit into a heavy-based saucepan with the water, cover and cook over a low heat until tender (about 6 to 8 minutes for apples, 4 minutes for pears).
2. To microwave, chop the apple or pear into small, even-sized pieces. Place the fruit in a suitable dish, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water and cover with microwave film. Pierce several times and then cook on full power until the fruit is tender (about 2 minutes).
3. Blend the fruit to a smooth puree using some of the cooking liquid. Spoon a little puree into your baby's bowl and serve lukewarm.
