2 oz butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
9 oz mushrooms, finely chopped
6 oz cooked long-grain rice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
salt and freshly ground pepper
12 canned vine leaves
1 x 12 oz can ready-to-use meat sauce

50 g butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
250 g mushrooms, finely chopped
175 g cooked long-grain rice
1x 15 ml spoon chopped fresh parsley
salt and freshly ground pepper
12 canned vine leaves
1 x 350 g can ready-to-use meat sauce


Place the butter in a large shallow dish and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 1 minute. Stir in the onion and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 4 minutes. Add the mushrooms and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the rice, parsley and seasoning. Mix thoroughly. Spread a little of the mixture along one edge of each vine leaf and roll up to enclose the filling. Tuck in the sides to form a packet. Arrange with the joins underneath, around the edge of a dish. Pour over the meat sauce. Cover and MICROWAVE ON HIGH for 8 minutes.
