* 75g (3 oz) Stork margarine
* 75g (3 oz) castor sugar
* 75g (3 oz) soft brown sugar
* 1 egg, size 3
* 1 x 5ml spoon (1 teaspoon) vanilla essence
* 50g (2 oz) walnuts, chopped
* 175g (6 oz) self-raising flour, sieved with
* 1 x 2.5ml spoon (1/2 teaspoon) bicarbonate of soda and
* Pinch of salt
* 75g (3 oz) plain chocolate, chopped

OVEN: Pre-heat to moderately hot (190°C, 375°F, Gas No.5)
SHELF: Middle
1. Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat together with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
2. Place teaspoons of the mixture on baking sheets, previously brushed with melted Stork.
3. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 8-10 mins.
4. Cool on a wire tray.

Makes: 30-36 cookies.
