Name Chickpeas with apple salad

2 tins chick peas (1 large, 1 small)
2 Bramley apples
50 ml/2 fl oz apple juice
50 g/2 oz raisins
25 g/1 oz butter
200 g/7 oz bacon, diced
2 large onions

Preparation. Drain the chickpeas and rinse under cold running water.
• Peel, core and roughly chop the appLes. Mix in a bowl with the apple juice and raisins. Leave a little while to marinate.
• Heat the butter in a large pan and fry the diced bacon until crisp. Peel and finely chop the onion. Add to the diced bacon and continue frying for a further 10 minutes.
To serve. Stir the chickpeas into the bacon and onions and leave to heat through for about 10 minutes. Season to taste and serve with an apple salad.
• Delicious with sauteed potatoes.
