Name Braised Beef with Prunes

BRAISED BEEF WITH PRUNESIngredients:
1 kg beef,
2 tbsp fat,
100 g stock,
1/2 kg prunes,
2 onions,
1/2 cup tomato puree,
1 tbsp flour,
1/2 tbsp sugar,
5 cloves,
1/3 tsp cinnamon,
1 tbsp 9% vinegar, salt.


Cut meat into portions of 200 to 250 g, sprinkle with salt and sear. Put in casserole, add sauteed onions, cinnamon and tomato puree, pour in a bit of the stock and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Dilute sauteed flour with stock and pour into casserole with meat, add washed prunes and simmer till done. Add vinegar, cloves, sugar and cook for another 10 minutes. Serve beef and prunes with gravy.
