* 2 firm avocado pears, halved, stoned and peeled
* juice of 2 lemons
* 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
* 18 rashers of streaky bacon, rinded
* salt and pepper

1. Cut each avocado half into 9 equal-sized cubes (it does not matter if they are not all exactly the same shape). Toss the cubed avocado in the lemon juice, mixed with the ground ginger, salt and pepper. 2. Stretch the bacon rashers out with the back of a knife and then cut each rasher in half crossways. Roll up each cube of avocado in a piece of bacon. Thread on to 6 fine kebab skewers.
3. Place the skewers an an oiled grid of a preheated barbecue and cook over the hot coals for 2-3 minutes.
