* 4 large cooking apples
* 50g (2 oz) mixed dried fruit and glace cherries
* 25g (1 oz) brown sugar
* 4 x 15ml spoons (4 tablespoons) golden syrup
* 25g (1 oz) Stork margarine

OVEN: Pre-heat to fairly hot (200°C, 400°F, Gas No. 6)
SHELF: Middle
1. Remove cores from apples with corer.
2. Slit skins in a ring half-way down apple using point of sharp knife, or peel thin strips vertically from apples, at intervals.
3. Place in shallow ovenproof dish containing 1.5cm (1/2 inch) depth of water.
4. Stuff centres with fruit and sugar. Pour 1 x 15ml spoon (1 tablespoon) golden syrup over each and top with a knob of Stork.
5. Bake in pre-heated oven for 40-50 minutes. Serve hot with custard or cream.

Cooking time: 40-50 mins

Microwave Instructions
1. Prepare as above.
2. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5-8 minutes giving the dish a quarter turn 3 times during cooking.
3. Stand for 5 minutes before serving.
